Law enforcement agencies in eight European countries have arrested 61 people and seized more than four tons of drugs as part of an investigation into the activities of a criminal organization in the Balkans that runs the largest cocaine distribution company on the European continent.

And the Associated Press quoted the European law enforcement agency “Europol” as saying in a statement that “the organization has set up a “cocaine pipeline” extending from South America to Spain and other European countries,” adding that it “was flooding Europe with cocaine.”

In turn, the Spanish police announced that "the network included members of paramilitary units and was one of the most powerful criminal organizations operating in Europe, as it was also involved in robberies, money laundering, extortion and kidnapping."

The authorities of the eight countries began their investigations, searches and investigations since 2018, culminating in arrests in March and May.
