Perfect start to the second half of the season for the newcomer.
Schwaig - In the first game of the second half of the season, FC Schwaig defeated Kirchheimer SC at home and deservedly 1-0 and now occupies the hard-to-believe third place in the Southeast regional league.
The Held-Elf was warned about the match, because the guests traveled to Schwaig again strengthened.
Not only the newcomer and ex-professional Korbinian Vollmann, who came to Kirchheim from Hansa Rostock two weeks ago, but also some returning injuries have recently given the team new self-confidence and good results.
And that's how the guests came into play.
They didn't wait to see what Schwaig was doing, but played along for the first ten minutes.
But then the course of the game changed and the hero team became more dominant. In the 11th minute the Schwaiger had the scream on their lips: Vincent Sommer sent Markus Straßer up the wing, and his sharp cross pass reached Raffi Ascher, who was three meters in front of the goal. But the ball missed him something, so that Kirchheim's strong goalkeeper Ivan Babic was able to clear it. Eight minutes later, Sommer ran alone towards Babic, but the angle was too sharp so that his shot missed the goal by inches. The situation was different in the 38th minute: After a Hannes Empl corner from the right, Sommer scored from eight meters to take a well-deserved break.
After the break, Kirchheim had the first chance to score. Vollmann served Sebastian Zielke in the sixteen-meter space, who lifted the ball to Noel Pfeiffer, but his beautiful volley went half a meter over the goal. This chance was the hello-wake effect for the hosts, who now clearly set the tone again and almost scored the second goal in the 48th minute: Ascher headed the ball into the barrel of Sommer, who passed the ball through The goalkeeper's legs pushed, but Thomas Branco de Brito, who was also running, scraped the ball off the line. A short time later, Hannes Empl flicked a free kick from 22 meters past the wall, but Babic reacted brilliantly and turned the ball around the post.
In the 73rd minute, Schwaig's goalkeeper Franz Hornof also stood out when he steered a Maxi Baitz header over the crossbar. Empl prepared the next Schwaiger chance when he wonderfully circled a free kick into the penalty area, where Simak missed the 2-0 by inches with a nice header. Schwaig increased the pressure again, and player-coach Held took on the role. In the 90th minute he almost made it 2-0: After a great diagonal ball from Tobi Jell, Held danced two opponents in the penalty area, but shot over it from 14 meters.
So Schwaig had to tremble again.
In the 94th minute, Kirchheim's co-player-coach Ricardo Jacobi came after a corner from eight meters to the header, but the ball brushed the crossbar.
After 18 games in the regional league, the newcomer has an outstanding 39 points - an achievement that was not thought possible.
