But because we are so used to their necessity, we do not always give them too much thought.

Another example is shower rooms that are connected to a bathroom - even there you do not always need a connecting door, which takes up a lot of space, "suffocates" the bathroom and of course - may be damaged by dampness and swelling as a result of the accumulated steam in the shower.
If you still want to create a separation between the spaces, there are many alternatives to the classic door: using a curtain (such as the famous Japanese curtains) and even - hanging a beaded curtain, ropes or a stylish rug that will define the separation of spaces, but allow airiness and flow.
While these are all winning options in many homes, keep in mind that they also have drawbacks: a certain loss of privacy, difficulty controlling the air conditioning and more.
Therefore, you should wisely choose where you give up and what not and everything according to your needs and the characteristics of the space.
