(ANSA) - PAVIA, 10 DEC - A worker resident in Zinasco, Dante Berto, aged 53, died in the afternoon in an accident at work in Torre d'Isola, in the province of Pavia.
According to the reconstruction of the carabinieri, he would have been hit by a concrete slab operated by a crane, probably due to a tie that was released.
The victim, explain the military, worked for a company of the Municipality in a construction site for the maintenance and remaking of the road surface.
The alarm went off immediately.
Within a few minutes the 118 operators, the carabinieri, personnel of the labor inspectorate and firefighters arrived on the spot.
The worker, who had suffered a very strong thoracic trauma, was transported by ambulance to the emergency room of the Policlinico San Matteo in Pavia.
But shortly after arriving at the hospital, the man died: the injuries sustained in the accident were too serious.
An investigation has been opened to establish the causes of yet another accident that cost the life of a worker.
An autopsy on the victim is likely to be ordered.
