As Duensing further reports, the experts expect that Omikron will also spread more rapidly in the Nienburg district. “But we are preparing,” he emphasizes. The focus is on the booster vaccinations and on further educational work. In addition, the administration is in the process of preparing strategies to avoid overloading the clinics.

This also means that the administration has to increase the staff of the new vaccination center on Verdener Straße in Nienburg by two positions. A corresponding application has been submitted to the district council; the committee will decide on this on Friday. According to Duensing, the boosting should now “really get going”. There is no shortage of vaccine, says the spokesman. The district offers first, second and booster vaccinations in accordance with the Stiko recommendations in the vaccination center at Verdener Straße 16-18. There is also an open vaccination offer in the old school Rohrsen at Wilhelmstrasse 2 and in Warmsen, Zur Linde 34 (former Sparkasse).
