Ukraine recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and next year will open a branch of the embassy in the city.
At a ceremony marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the two countries, held today (Thursday) at the Jerusalem Cinematheque, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel, Kornichuk, said: An embassy branch that will promote economic and technological cooperation. Israel was represented at the event by Minister Zeev Elkin.
Yesterday, Zalanski spoke about his country's preparations for a possible invasion of Russia and compared the Ukrainians to the Jews.
"We know what it means to be without a state of our own," Zalansky told the Kiev Forum for Diaspora Jewry. "Jews value the value of freedom. The two peoples work for the future of their country according to their vision - and not according to the vision of others. Israel often serves as an example to the Ukrainian people."
