Most of the students lost from the public school system were immigrants or transferred to direct-funded/private schools. In November, there were a total of 45,363 vacancies in secondary schools and 17,735 in primary schools, a total of 63,098, a slight increase of 1% on a monthly basis.


As the immigration wave continues, many schools have dropped out.

According to the latest public sector school vacancies announced by the Education Bureau, the number of public sector vacancies from November 1 to 6 of this school year increased by 824 compared to October.
