The large excavation pit on Alramstraße has been shaping the neighborhood in Sendling for some time.
That should end this year.
But there is a dispute about the supermarket.
Munich - It is one of the most striking construction sites in the Munich city area: the large-scale project "14 Alram" on Alramstrasse corner Aberlestrasse. Up until almost two years ago, there was still a Rewe supermarket here at Alramstrasse 14. According to the website of the builder "M-Concept", "around 130 wonderful condominiums will soon be built there in an elegant apartment building". In addition, an underground car park and a central entrance area with an associated concierge staff are planned, and the return of a Rewe supermarket on the ground floor and basement of the building has also been confirmed.
As the Sendlinger District Committee (BA) explained in its most recent meeting, a small day-care center is also to move into the complex.
Nevertheless, the project is controversial – and has been for years.
Instead of the desired development of affordable housing, more presumably high-priced condominiums are now being built in the already densely built-up area - and no socially subsidized housing.
The work on the luxury quarter is also likely to have a long-term impact on the heavily trafficked area.
"It will be a large construction site with pretty much all the side effects," explained BA chairman Markus Lutz to this newspaper.
In the coming months, the shell construction should finally begin
An interim construction freeze in September 2020, which according to the client was related to the availability of the construction companies, caused heated tempers.
In the coming months, however, work on the shell of the new complex will finally begin.
Although the planning for the project is almost complete, some points are still being discussed.
The planned delivery times for the supermarket are causing stomach ache in the BA: During the week, the area is said to be approached by delivery vehicles late at night a few times - a no-go for the local politicians, who stand in front of the residents.
Yes, a supermarket must also be supplied at some point, said Dagmar Irlinger (Greens), "but you can definitely do that earlier".
It is interesting that on the also densely built-up Brudermühlstraße trucks from all over Europe thunder around the clock to the wholesale market hall - also in the Sendlinger area.
Completion is expected in 2024
In any case, the ranks of the Sendlinger BA do not expect to be able to influence the decision of the supermarket chain, but the plans submitted were unanimously rejected with a corresponding justification.
The project and its background noise should keep the Sendlingers busy for the time being.
Completion is expected in 2024, the client explained on request.
