Hit by a salvo of pellets in the abdomen, he was seriously injured.

But the vital prognosis of this hunter, transported in emergency to the Henri-Mondor hospital, in Créteil (Val-de-Marne), has never been committed.

It was this Sunday, at the end of the morning, that the accident occurred, in a private wood located in Grisy-Suisnes where a dozen participants were gathered for a hunting party.

It was during the flight of pheasants that the shots rang out.

One of them hit the victim.

The gendarmerie has opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of what could have turned into a tragedy.

She seeks above all to know the author of the shot which hit the hunter, the investigators having already determined the positions of each, during the game, in order to specify the angles of fire.

Ballistics experts should be able to wrap it up within a week.

In the meantime, the gendarmes carried out blood alcohol and drug use checks on the hunters.

They all tested negative.

The ten or so participants were also holders of hunting licenses.

The departmental hunting federation provides safety training

“We are saddened, declares Bruno Mollot, the director of the Federation of Hunters of Seine-et-Marne (FDC77), who does not yet know precisely the circumstances of the accident. As always, it's one accident too many. However, we are vigilant and we are always trying to improve hunter safety training. They have been trained for years, without waiting for the mandatory ten-year training, the youngest as well as the oldest. In any case, it is very regrettable. We think of the victim. »

The director is waiting to find out where the accident took place so that he can intervene later.

“As soon as we have identified the territory, then the person in charge of hunting, we will contact him to offer him training.

This does not give a good image of hunting but, as soon as we know more, we will approach the people concerned to understand.

Hunting accidents have become rare in recent years in the department.

The last dated back to last summer.

A 21-year-old young woman traveling by car on a very busy road was then hit by a projectile which had passed through her windshield and hit her left hand.
