Lifting of health restrictions: “The gallop of freedom”

It was a year ago.

Emmanuel Macron had had the courage to dismiss the frightening modellers, the fearful bureaucrats, the cautious in principle who, once again, wanted to confine the country.

There followed, on television sets, a procession of doctors and scientists transformed into Philippulus announcing the apocalypse.

“He has blood on his hands,” said the most fanatical, brandishing here a biased report, there an oriented projection.

In vain, the facts came to confirm in all respects that this choice was proportionate.

Today, the same people would like to maintain, despite the combination of vaccination and mass contamination, despite the lesser aggressiveness of the new variant, despite the reassuring declarations of the major institutions - WHO, European Medicines Agency -, the same suffocating paradigm.

The discrepancy between their rhetoric and reality is visible to the naked eye.
