A 26-year-old Lod resident was shot last night (Friday) while sitting in a train in the city and was seriously injured.
According to police, the attackers ambushed her outside her home and opened fire on her as she got into the vehicle.
The young woman was evacuated in a difficult and unstable condition to receive medical treatment at Assaf Harofeh Hospital in Rishon Lezion.
The hospital said doctors were fighting for her life.
MDA paramedic Shir Hever, who was present at the scene of the incident, said: "The wounded woman who was conscious suffered a penetrating and bleeding injury.
"We immediately started life-saving medical treatment, which included stopping bleeding and administering medication. We put her in a medical treatment van and evacuated her to the hospital when her condition was serious and unstable."
