Forty people were injured as a result of a public transport bus crash today on the Maarrat Sednaya-Maaruna road in Damascus countryside.
The head of the Damascus Countryside Traffic Branch, Colonel Abdul-Jawad Awad, said in a statement to SANA’s delegate that the accident was caused by a technical failure in the bus’s brakes, which led to its deterioration on the road and its stability on the hill intersection coming from Maaruna, injuring forty people with various injuries.
Colonel Awad indicated that the patrols of the Damascus Countryside Traffic Branch police and Al-Tal police immediately came to the scene of the accident and removed the traces of the accident from the road, restored traffic and rescued the injured to Al-Tal National Hospital, Al-Zahraa Hospital in Al-Tal, and Al-Sayeda Private Hospital in Sednaya.
