Damascus, SANA- The Higher Education Council has set the conditions for creating and opening new postgraduate degrees (Master’s and Ph.D.) in the university

The Higher Education Council has set the conditions for creating and opening new postgraduate degrees (Masters and Ph.D.) in public universities.

According to the council’s decision, which SANA received a copy of today, it is required to create new postgraduate degrees the necessity of the availability of infrastructure and the availability of educational frameworks with the presence of at least two faculty members, one of whom has the rank of assistant professor in the department for a master’s degree, in addition to at least a faculty member with the rank of professor in the department for to a Ph.D.

It also sets the ceiling for the number of graduate students (Masters and PhD) in line with the provisions of the previous paragraph, so that 6 students are accepted annually, provided that the number of students does not exceed 20 students in the department.

According to the decision, postgraduate degrees will be created and opened in university branches if the mentioned conditions are met, and at least two batches have graduated in the bachelor’s stage.

In another decision, the Higher Education Council agreed to accept the first graduates of the specialty (prosthetic limbs) at the Medical Technical Institute in Hama in the Medical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Damascus and Tishreen Universities.

In another decision, the Council also agreed to consider the students of civil engineering majors (Water Department in Raqqa) hosted at Tishreen University transferred to Tishreen University and to grant them graduation documents, provided that the work is terminated by the decision of the Education Council issued in 2018.

In another decision, the council exempted students from conducting production camps in all faculties of public universities for the academic year 2021-2022.
