The Minister of Transportation, Merav Michaeli, today (Sunday) appointed the members of the committee that will examine the deficiencies at the Kfar Saba Nordau train station, which closed about three weeks ago together with the Raanana West station, due to "the need to strengthen engineering centers."

The letter of appointment sent today states that the many deficiencies must be examined and that this is a "serious safety incident."

Apparently, at the closed Kfar Saba Nordau station, where the passenger hall is below the tracks themselves, an inappropriate amount of iron and steel was used to support the roof, which in theory could have led to a disaster in which the roof would collapse while passengers were in the hall.

In the letter, Michaeli called on the committee members to thoroughly examine what led to the deficiencies that were revealed, what actions Israel Railways took to prevent the deficiencies and how it acted when it found out about them.

On the train they do not know how long the repairs will take.

Its initial announcement indicates that this is more than a month of change in vintage schedules.

However, in a conversation that the mayor of Kfar Saba, Rafi Saar, had with the director general of the train, it was said that they are expected to last for months

. Today, in order to allow work crews access to piles, and since the passage of full-scale train traffic on a single section of track is not possible due to the "bottleneck" created, the need arose to redesign the order and schedule of trains and change their scheduling.
