Hampered by an effective police force, devoid of a compass, the “freedom convoy” was defeated in Paris on Saturday.
But, a few weeks before the presidential election, this rant sounds like a warning shot.
The winning bet of the “Lallement method”
Inflexible as usual to the point of appearing provocative, the prefect of police Didier Lallement pulled out his muscles when the self-proclaimed “freedom convoys” arrived.
As of Thursday, he draws his order prohibiting demonstrations and announces the color: in the event of a blockage, offenders are liable to
"two years' imprisonment", "4500 euros fine",
or even immobilization and vehicle impoundment.

In the process, he sends
"firmness instructions"
to his troops and deploys a
"specific device"
to verbalize and apprehend the recalcitrant.
On Friday, a blue "poultice" of 7,200 police and gendarmes is deployed in the capital.
