"We got up at about six in the morning, we saw a fire burning from the window and we heard loud explosions at a level that it is unbelievable that this thing could happen at all,"

Nachman Wahb excitedly describes to "Israel Today."

And he fled early in the morning from the port city of Odessa to the Black Sea coast to neighboring Moldova and is now in a Chabad house in the country.

Hehb added that "from the moment we left and during every 4 hours of driving out of the area we heard an explosion every minute. The whole city got up on its feet, and started to have gas stations laden with hundreds of cars, we drove quickly to the Moldovan border until we managed to leave Ukraine."

According to local estimates in the community, today a total of about 200 Jewish refugees from Ukraine came to Moldova (about half of them came to the Jewish community; the total number of refugees who came to Moldova is about 500 refugees in total, dl).

Three families of emissaries assist the Jewish community in Moldova, which fears the local situation.

Rabbi Zosha Abelski, chairman of the Chabad Jewish community in Moldova, says that "there is great concern in the community and there is considerable tension. Everyone is nervous. We know that one of Putin's plans includes the conquest of Odessa and part of Moldova and turning them into a political entity in itself. "Everyone believes Putin is his will and there is a lot of fear and pressure."

"We have a structure in the community where we can put up to a hundred beds. We currently have a problem with kosher food because the border with Odessa is closed, so our focus is on local food. We do not know what awaits us next," he concluded apprehensively.

Rabbi Mandy Axelrod, Chabad emissary in Moldova. "We are preparing for Shabbat, with the purchase of additional products, God willing, there are options.

We will have to host about 200 guests and even more.

We will make sure that everyone has a place to lay their head and receive the Sabbath meal in the best possible way, with the help of the name. "
