More than 125 firefighters fought for three hours a fire that broke out in a 21-storey tower in central London, near the City business district.
Twenty fire trucks and more than 125 firefighters were deployed on site at 4 p.m. (local and GMT, 5 p.m. in France).
The fire was under control shortly after 7 p.m.

About 60 people evacuated the building, which includes apartments and offices, after the outbreak of the fire on the 17th floor, which then spread to the balconies of the 18th and 19th floors.
A ladder of 64 meters
Firefighters received more than fifty calls immediately after the blaze broke out, according to Commander Chris Jenner of the London Fire Department.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
In June 2017, the fire at Grenfell Tower in west London killed 71 people as well as a stillborn baby after the 24-storey building burst into flames like a torch, the fire starting from a faulty freezer spreading at high speed through the cladding on the facade.
