The Shuffling Track: The Confused Priesthood of Biden Israel today

2022-04-06T21:03:51.603Z

From the farce in Afghanistan, through the laxity against Iran to the return to the days of the Cold War • Support for Biden is low, and it seems that some founding events were responsible for this • And also: the situation at home may save the president

Against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, public support figures for US President Joe Biden continue to plummet and are currently at an unprecedented low.

Despite a three-point rise in the latest poll conducted by Reuters, the Democratic president is unpopular with half of the American people who oppose his policies, a figure that has not taken off since August last year.

However, the only place Biden enjoys almost total support is among his party with 82 percent.

Only 15 percent of Republicans have shown any support for the president

This is a president who has so far had no significant achievements in any field, and the gap deepens when examining the White House's foreign policy.

In fact, Biden's gallop into an agreement with Iran over the past year can be interpreted as an attempt to turn the bowl on its head and write one point to his credit.

But now even the return to the original nuclear deal from 2015 is facing some difficulties and resistance, especially from Tehran.

Galloped to the agreement

Exactly yesterday marked a year for the resumption of talks between the powers and the Islamic Republic in Vienna, and a re-signing is not in the pockets of the Democrats as initially expected.

Iran smelled the weakness of the Biden administration and took the opportunity to harden their positions and try to squeeze more concessions from the lax White House.

Removing the Revolutionary Guards from the list of terrorist organizations is the latest example of this.

Both houses of Congress promise that Biden will not have a majority to approve a renewed nuclear deal if it is put to a vote.

The withdrawal from Afghanistan

Fifteen members of the House of Representatives demonstrated yesterday "concerns about the floating agreement".

Biden is expected to pass the initiative even if it is carried out by a presidential decree only.

A landmark depicting the chaos with which things are conducted in Washington, D.C. was the hasty and deadly escape from Kabul following the seizure of power by the Taliban last August.

Hidden within this failure is another failure in the form of a serious intelligence problem among U.S. intelligence services, which missed what was to come and made erroneous estimates of the speed of Taliban fighters' progress.

The intelligence failure translated into a problem on the ground as masses tried to flee for their lives from Afghanistan while holding the wings of the planes taking off from the airport.

The disorganization of the United States after a 20-year stay in the country was also projected to ISIS members in Khorasan province, who sent a suicide bomber who blew himself up at Abbey Gate and killed 13 American soldiers and 170 locals.

The U.S. response that sealed off U.S. military operations in the country was also accompanied by poor intelligence when a targeted thwarting initially attributed to an alleged local ISIS operative resulted in the deaths of 10 innocent people, including seven children from the same family.

It is too early to examine in depth the US policy towards Ukraine in light of the Russian invasion on February 24.

What is certain is that the laxity of the White House until the start of the war did not help at all to reduce Moscow's imperialist aspirations.

Here, too, President Vladimir Putin smelled weakness and correctly appreciated the Western response.

True, the Russian economy has indeed been hit hard in light of the sanctions of the White House and the Union, but there has been no use of NATO or military deterrence on the part of the West that would prevent it from operating against them.

On the other hand, it is important to note that this time American intelligence saw the picture correctly and warned in advance of a combined air and land attack against Ukraine, even though this would have sounded unfounded at first.

"Too little and too late"

The failure so far in the war is a net of the Russians, following the use of an outdated army against a ready-made opponent with advanced weapons from the West.

However, Putin's fall could help Biden, after the war is over and the parties are forced to return to the negotiating table together.

It seems that the only thing that can save Biden is the encouraging data of the post-Corona economy, with an emphasis on job creation and the lowest unemployment rate since the epidemic broke out around the world about two years ago (3.6 percent).

But it is doubtful that this is not too little and too late for that.

"When we think of moving forward in 2022, bringing more people back into the workforce will be the key to that," said U.S. Labor Secretary Marty Walsh.

"We have seen more women return to work this month, and an increase in childcare workers."
