Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the special military operation in Ukraine is limited to two scenarios: achieving its goals or reaching an agreement through negotiations.
Peskov said in a statement to the British Sky News channel today that "the military operation in Ukraine may end in the coming days, according to two scenarios: either it will achieve its goals that were set for it, or an agreement will be reached through negotiations."
Peskov stressed that the goal of the military operation is to protect Russia from any potential threat, noting at the same time that "the situation can be resolved through diplomacy based on the consistency of the Ukrainian position and its willingness to accept Russian conditions."
On the sanctions imposed on his country, Peskov said that "Russia does not consider the imposed economic sanctions and pressure to be an existential threat to it," explaining: "We have been living under sanctions for two decades, and we are already accustomed to this situation and we started preparing for these sanctions a year ago."
