About 30,000 people who participated tonight (Thursday) in a huge event to mark the 120th birthday of the Lubavitcher Rebbe stopped the celebrations with the initial reports of the deadly attack on Dizengoff Street and began reciting Psalms.
This is one of the two huge events that have taken place in recent days to mark the Rebbe's birthday, which was attended by thousands of people.
The first took place yesterday at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem.
Initially it was reported that the police dispersed the incident but this is a false report, the security forces banned entry to and exit from the stadium.
The crowds at the scene read Psalms for a long time to the wounded, while security forces searched for the terrorist in central Tel Aviv.
