Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Al-Ghubash, today chaired the national coordination meeting to discuss health priorities for 2022, stressed the importance of coordination between the ministry and governmental and non-governmental organizations as an existing and evolving approach with clear goals and visions.
Minister Al-Ghubash pointed out the importance of working according to programs and executive plans with a specific professional schedule that work to achieve strategic goals and general directions by relying on mechanisms that are commensurate with the requirements of national goals, pointing out the need to reconsider the criteria for assessing humanitarian needs and bridging the gap caused by the war in various geographical areas.
In turn, the Head of Mission and WHO Representative in Syria, Dr. Akjmal Magtimova, provided an overview of the main social and economic challenges and their impact on health.
During the meeting, the directors and representatives of the central directorates in the ministry made presentations that included their priorities for 2022, according to their fields and specializations, whether with regard to priorities of infrastructure, medical equipment, emergency response, and others.
