Al-Arabi Al-Jadid newspaper reports that hundreds of rioters will be released • It is further alleged that al-Sisi's son visited Tel Aviv as part of mediation efforts to prevent escalation in the Gaza Strip

Al-Arabi al-Jadid reported last night (Friday) that there were indications that Cairo's mediation efforts to prevent escalation in the wake of the Temple Mount riots had been successful.

According to a Qatar-affiliated newspaper, senior Egyptian intelligence officials held talks with senior Israeli government officials and the Hamas leadership, which led to a conclusion regarding the Palestinian detainees who rioted on the Temple Mount on Friday morning.

It should be noted that earlier, the terrorist organization announced that its leader Ismail Haniyeh had talked to senior Egyptian intelligence officials and demanded the release of the detainees.

Al-Arabi al-Jadid reported that as part of the Egyptian mediation, which is coordinated with senior officials in Qatar, all detainees will be released in the first hours of Saturday morning, with a total of 400 Palestinians.

In addition, the report claims that Mahmoud a-Sisi, the son of the Egyptian president, paid a quick visit to Tel Aviv as part of the mediation efforts.

This, in light of the risk that the events on the Temple Mount will lead to an "explosion of the situation" in the Gaza Strip.

According to the report, which was based on Egyptian sources, following a series of talks that took place during the day, silence is expected in the coming hours.

It should be noted, however, that Palestinian media outlets reported clashes with security forces at a number of hotspots in Judea and Samaria on Friday evening.
