The Rottach-Egern mountain rescue service was called to a mission on the Risserkogel on Thursday afternoon.
A father with his two sons threatened to fall in deep snow.
Rottach-Egern - Even if spring is already smiling in the Tegernsee valley, there is still deep snow above 1500 meters above sea level.
This fact was fatal for a family man with his two sons (13 and 15) on the Risserkogel.
The three hikers got caught in deep snow when descending on the north-east side on Thursday evening (April 20) around 5:30 p.m.
This is currently reported by the Rottach-Egern mountain rescue service.
They tried several times to extricate themselves from the predicament, but almost fell down.
So the father only had to alert the mountain rescue service.
The operations manager requested a helicopter from the control center and the air squadron of the Bavarian police.
Use on the Risserkogel: Police helicopter flies out hikers
The Edelweiß one police helicopter came, picked up the mountain rescue service and flew to the Risserkogel.
There, father and both sons were flown out one after the other and brought down to the valley unharmed.
Forest fire alarm still in use - but helicopter can't find anything
During the operation, the operations manager was informed about an alleged forest fire in the Hirschberg area towards Söllbachtal.
A concerned citizen has reported that a plume of smoke can be seen hanging over the area.
After the rescue was successfully completed, the helicopter checked the area again before taking off and was unable to make any determinations.
The operation ended at around 7:00 p.m.
A total of five rescuers were on duty.
By the way: everything from the region is also available in our regular Tegernsee newsletter.
