A beaver was obviously lost.
Strabag employees met the rodent at the construction site in the "Neue Mitte" in Geretsried.
Geretsried – The Strabag employees were quite astonished when they wanted to get to work in the “Neue Mitte” after the winter break last week.
They were about to start civil engineering work on the Egerlandstraße in Geretsried (Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district) when they came across a beaver in a shaft.
He had obviously lost his way to the city center.
Beaver gets lost on Geretsried construction site: police and district office informed
What to do with the beaver on the construction site?
The building inspector contacted the police.
They in turn tried the district office.
Finally, Andrea Knöbl was notified.
"My wife is a hunter and she should catch the animal," reports husband Erwin Knöbl in an interview with our newspaper.
The woman from Geretsried came with a transport box and before the rodent knew it, he was already in there.
"He was quite good," says Erwin Knöbl.
Presumably it is about a two-year-old male cub that was thrown out of the family group by the male head.
The CSU city councilor explains that the beavers are currently very active and busy raising their young animals.
The older male animals would have to make room for that.

So the rodent with the broad, flat tail went in search of a new territory and ended up in the center of Geretsried.
Presumably he managed the way from the Isar meadows to the Egerlandstraße - where some beavers live - on foot.
It is unlikely that the animal wandered over from the Loisach due to the long distance.
Beaver gets lost on the Geretsried construction site: Released on the Isar
The protected animal spent the day in the transport box in a darkened room.
Because it wasn't possible to be released somewhere so easily, reports the tenant of the lower Buchberg estate.
Only after consultation with the beaver officer in the district office and the lower nature conservation authority was Andrea Knöbl granted permission to release the rodent on the banks of the Isar near the Tattenkofen Bridge.
Hopefully he will find a more suitable new territory there.
