The Public Establishment for Drinking Water in Lattakia today installed the new Al-Bassa pumping station in service that feeds from the fifth traction line and serves about 35,000 people in the neighborhood of Lattakia City Council.
The Director General of the Foundation, Eng. Tariq Ismail, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the project aims to feed Al-Bassa neighborhood from the fifth traction line with a 300 mm diameter pipe that feeds a tank of 200 cubic meters, then pumping is carried out from the tank to a high tank and from it to the network.
Ismail added that a direct line with a diameter of 110 mm was also implemented, reaching from a line with a diameter of 300 mm directly to the network, at an abundance of 50 cubic meters per hour. With this connection, it is possible to pump directly when the electricity is cut off and deliver water to the people every 4 days, after it was previously every 12 days, in addition to The possibility of water reaching most of the subscribers’ tanks without the need for household pumps.
Ismail indicated that the entire drinking water network in the village of Al-Bassa has been replaced with various diameters and a total length of 18,500 meters.
