At about 9 pm today (23rd), the police received a report from a man that a woman and a half-year-old baby girl were found unconscious in a unit of the Palace Building, 301-319 King's Road, North Point. .
Officers rushed to the scene to find out and found that the woman was still awake, but the baby girl was unresponsive. Later, the ambulance confirmed that the baby girl had died on the spot.
The woman was then taken to Eastern District Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
Police are investigating the incident.
It is reported that the above address is a subdivided housing unit, and the two are in a mother-daughter relationship.
The woman was emotional and kept screaming when she was taken to hospital on a stretcher by ambulancemen.
As seen at the scene, a police officer blocked off the corridor of the unit involved, and a pair of men and women sat outside the unit to assist in the investigation. Detectives from the serious crime team came to follow up.
