Riddle: For the national camp, what is worse than a left-wing government leading a political process of concessions to the Palestinians?
Spoiler: An opportunistic government that makes the same concessions on its part, unilaterally and without any political consideration.
The remarks made by Mansour Abbas over the weekend shocked many.
Hela revealed that his stay in the government depends on the results of the discussions between the Israeli government and Jordan regarding sovereignty over the Temple Mount.
He added that the final solution is the establishment of a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria and Gaza, with Jerusalem as its capital, with the Temple Mount under Palestinian sovereignty.
As I read the condemnations he said, I remembered that all these ideas had always existed within the framework of the political plans of the Israeli left.
Whether at the initiative of Geneva, or at Ehud Barak's Camp David talks or Olmert's far-reaching political plan - they all always included a Palestinian state, the division of Jerusalem and the relinquishment of sovereignty in the holy places.
So why when they are said by Mansour Abbas, in a government where Meretz and the Labor Party also sit - is the earth noisy?
What is shocking about Abbas' words is not (only) the content, the new.
What is frightening is that all this was done de facto unilaterally, regardless of the political process, no matter how leftist.
The promises made in the past, at the end of a lengthy political process that blackmailed and ripped the people around a deep ideological debate, as well as the concessions made in the past in a wrong and dangerous way - were made out of ideology.
All of these are said and given today casually, without any political framework, and while commentators try to mislead the public and claim that this is not a left-wing government, that "there is no political process."
In practice the plethora of measures do not embarrass the political concessions proposed by the far left.
One difference: there is no requirement for political compensation.
Only personal political survival.
And thus, give water to the Jordan;
Take care of the deal to sell advanced aircraft to Egypt;
Abu Mazen is allowed to build in Area C;
Approve citizenship of thousands of Palestinians and loans of huge sums;
More and more powers are being transferred to Jordan on the Temple Mount;
Add guards and aqf;
Bowing their heads in front of Hamas flags;
The activities of the Israeli police are being reduced there and a Jordanian document is being discussed on the question of sovereignty - all without political compensation, because there is no political process.
Even when Ayelet Shaked justifies the attempts to promote construction in the settlement before President Biden, she does not provide an ideological explanation for her request, but only flatters in his face the government's political plight.
The fact that there is no political process, then, should not reassure anyone.
We are surrounded by a host of unilateral security policy benefits, which are distributed free of charge and have no money for all our needs.

In some ways it is an inclusion of the awkward idea of Sharon's unilateral disengagement plan.
A collection of unilateral moves, given to any claimant by any representative of the coalition, according to the need of the political hour.
Such an opportunistic government, which makes political changes triggered only by political reflexes, is a cause for deep shock and concern.
