Open interactive sessions in various scientific sectors witnessed the Specialized Guidance Conference for Adolescents 2022 on its first day at the University of Damascus, with the participation of about 150 high school students in Damascus and the relevant institutions and a number of academics and specialists from Syria and Lebanon.

Over the course of seven sessions, academics and specialists presented scientific presentations directly and via the Internet to introduce the various available academic disciplines and modern specializations in universities, institutes, institutions and academic bodies inside and outside Syria, especially in the fields of technology, software, agriculture, agricultural economics, food health, economic sciences, business administration, health, design science and engineering.

Dr. Alaa Ali, a pediatrician and interested in psychological affairs, pointed out in a statement to SANA reporter the importance of qualifying school students to move to the university level and introducing them to the most appropriate and best specialization, indicating that in her lecture she reviewed the steps of modification and examinations that the student undergoes when modifying his degree in universities outside Syria, in addition to her focus on introducing With a modern science taught in international universities, “genetics or transgenesis,” which is important in the treatment and early detection of tumors.

Dr. Ghada Bilal, Deputy Dean of the Higher Institute of Regional Planning in Damascus, pointed out the importance of the conference from an educational point of view and its role in linking the student to his future and investing his talents and hobbies in areas that serve his country, indicating that she introduced students and youth through her lecture to the importance of regional planning as a confident step in the reconstruction of Syria.

Abi Sandouq, director of the Information Technology Leadership Program at the Syrian Scientific Informatics Society, pointed out the need to help the young generation choose the appropriate specialization that will enable them in the future to create small projects and start-up companies that contribute to the national economy with revenues and job opportunities.

Maha Saba, director of the “Active Young People” project at the “Here is My Identity” development foundation, pointed out that the project is directed at young people aged fifteen to eighteen, and it implements rehabilitation courses to make the students’ transition to the university stage smooth and easy, in addition to development projects that they carry out with their colleagues.

From the United States, Dr. Milad Al-Sebaly gave an online lecture on artificial intelligence and digital marketing, while Dr. Antoine Al-Ashkar from France spoke about the medical curriculum, and Dr. Ghiath Moussa from the United States reviewed the new options in medical specialties.

The students participating in the sessions, Adnan Tarabichi, Marisa Saji, and Mona Al-Kurdi, stressed in their interviews with the SANA reporter the importance of the offers presented in terms of guiding them, getting to know new specialties, learning new skills, being open to the world and gaining self-confidence.

The “Here is My Identity” Developmental Foundation launched this morning during the conference the Specialized Guidance Program for Adolescents 2022 in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Damascus University, the university branch of the National Union of Syrian Students and a number of institutions and specialized and advisory bodies in the educational and youth development field, in order to complete its work in achieving its project “Active Young People”. With the aim of developing the capabilities of adolescents, empowering them and helping them determine their life path within its “Here Ajyal” programme.

This stage, which is the last, comes after a series of stages starting from the stage of training for secondary school youth within a training program that integrates life skills and the promotion of values. After obtaining the certificate, the stage of the Ajyal Club comes as a platform for them to complete their interactive projects.
