But the analysis of the 56 amendments proposed and the methods used to convince the 19 million Kazakhstanis to vote

seem above all to announce an adjustment of the supreme law for President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at the head of the country since July 2019.

The latter had to give a more democratic air to the supreme law of the former Soviet Republic, the authoritarian nature of the power of his predecessor Nursultan Nazarbayev, who had led it since the end of the 1980s, having led to the bloody events of January last (over 200 dead).
