To motivate students and encourage them to hone their artistic and creative skills and give them an opportunity to display their creativity, the “Colors and Ideas” competition, in its fifth edition, was held in cooperation between Alf Noun Hall for Arts and Spirituality and the Ministry of Education, where the competition jury finished judging the works participating in it from all governorates.
In a statement to SANA’s reporter, the director of Alf Noun Gallery, plastic artist, Badi’ Jahjah, explained that the competition continues in its fifth year, entitled “Arts elevate people,” and is directed to schools and institutes affiliated with the Ministry of Education, in addition to the schools of the sons and daughters of martyrs.
He pointed out that the value of its prizes is 14 million pounds, distributed among 400 winners from the three primary, preparatory and secondary episodes, where the number of participants reached nearly 5/ thousand subscribers.
Jahjah stressed the importance of partnership with the Ministry of Education, because art is an educational act that makes the artist an active person in his community.
With regard to the jury, he explained that it is made up of plastic artists, media professionals, psychologists and representatives of the Ministry of Education, noting that the judging was subject to different axes according to the chromatic technique, the general composition and the accompanying sentence, in addition to the subject of the painting.
Jahjah pointed out that the competition aims to promote art as a moral and behavioral value and an enlightening state, as it is based on an agenda of love, respect and human advancement for the highest values by supporting all children and young people from different locations.
In turn, a member of the jury, Sandra Al-Nabulsi, the First Supervisor of Art Education and Visual Aesthetics at the Ministry of Education, confirmed that the competition tests the impact of art through children and adolescents, since art is the supreme need of humanity.
She pointed out that the levels of participating students were different, as there is a clear distinction and diversity in the participating paintings because they contain a great energy of joy, optimism, beauty and expression of the future.
She stressed that what distinguishes the Colors and Ideas competition from other competitions is the presence of interest by students and their families alike, as it is a hopeful space for them, explaining that art is primarily a psychological support, as it is a state of unconsciousness and a reflection of what goes around in thoughts and minds, as it is a development of the future personality and does not It must be adapted to the service of society because it will be positively reflected on it.
The results of the competition will be announced soon by the Ministry of Education and Alf Noun Hall, and the winning works will be printed in their own book.
