A scooter driver drove into a parked coach on Saturday and was fatally injured.
Was an overtaking maneuver to blame for the accident?
Garmisch-Partenkirchen – A chain of extremely unfortunate circumstances with a tragic outcome occurred on Saturday around 10 p.m. in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
A 67-year-old local, who was traveling on his scooter on the Zugspitzstrasse, crashed into a parked coach, according to witnesses.
The senior suffered serious injuries and died.

The collision was preceded by an overtaking manoeuvre.
A 41-year-old from the district drove past the 67-year-old.
As a result, he apparently turned right and hit the bus on the side of the road.
According to witnesses, the woman initially took no notice of the accident and simply continued on her way.

"Since a connection between the overtaking maneuver and the accident could not be ruled out, the vehicle was immediately searched for," says police commissioner Stephan Eitzenberger, explaining the procedure of his colleagues.
But it wasn't necessary, because the 41-year-old returned to the scene of the accident while the incident was being recorded.

Further investigations will have to show to what extent she is jointly responsible for the whole thing.
By order of the public prosecutor's office, investigations into negligent homicide and unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident were started.
The scene of the accident was secured and illuminated by emergency services from the Garmisch fire brigade.
Zugspitzstrasse was closed until around 1:50 a.m.
Witnesses are asked to contact the local police station by calling (0 88 21) 91 70.
