A family discovers their suitcase in a photo from our newspaper.
Munich - There are things that are even more unlikely than a punctual departure.
For example?
What happened to the Leister family after a vacation in the USA: They had been desperately looking for their luggage for three weeks.
When they took a look at our newspaper at the weekend, they saw the chaotic photo of Munich Airport - and can hardly believe their eyes: "There's our suitcase!" The orange-colored piece of luggage is lying in the middle of the crowd.
But how do you get there now?

Your holiday troubles after the Miami trip started on the return flight on June 19th.
A stopover in Warsaw was planned, then it should go on to Munich.
However, the plane was seven hours late, so Katja (43) and Sven Leister (55) had to spend a night in Warsaw with their children (12 and 15).
The next day we went - unplanned - via Hamburg to the state capital.
They reach Munich on June 21st.
Then the next shock: the luggage had been lost on the long journey.
After two hours of waiting, the family gave up and made their way home near Freising.
"But then the horror really started," says Sven Leister.
Munich Airport: Chaos caused by lack of staff
Because they can see on the Internet that their suitcases are in Munich.
Trying to reach someone at Lufthansa gets on the couple's nerves.
"We were on hold for at least two hours every day for about a week until we got someone on." Eventually they found out that the luggage was there, but that Lufthansa couldn't keep up with the processing.
In the end they still didn't have their suitcase.
When the luggage disappears
If luggage is lost, as a passenger you must first contact the airline you were traveling with.
Lufthansa asks that this be done preferably on the Internet.
You will then receive a written confirmation with a transaction number.
This can in turn be used to check the baggage status online.
In most cases, according to Lufthansa, items of luggage can be found within 24 hours – however, nothing is normal in air traffic at the moment.
Both delays and hassles are huge in many cases.
If the suitcases don't turn up after five days, you have to create a list of contents - a detailed description of everything that is in the luggage.
If you depend on things from the suitcase, Lufthansa will reimburse the costs upon presentation of the invoice.
If the piece of luggage doesn't show up at all, you get compensation - a maximum of 1385 euros.
According to a Lufthansa spokeswoman, the reason is the lack of staff at service providers that the airline has commissioned with handling.
"All system partners are working flat out to ensure that passengers and their luggage take off and land on time," she says.
But that cannot always be guaranteed at the moment.
