Homs, SANA- The activities of the third day of the Citadel and Valley Festival, which is held in Homs Governorate, were characterized by diversity and richness.

The activities of the third day of the Citadel and Wadi Festival, which is held in Homs Governorate, were characterized by the diversity and richness that characterizes the Wadi Nadari region.

The events started at the University of El-Hawash stadium with the launch of a football tournament for children born in 2006 and 2007, which will continue until July 29, with the participation of 15 teams, divided into two groups.

In a statement to SANA's reporter, the tournament's supervisor, coach Marwan Khoury, said that the goal is to discover talents, refine them and highlight them to support the governorate's clubs and national teams, indicating that the valley area is rich with promising talents that are being deliberately worked on.

The town of Mashta Azar witnessed the opening of an exhibition of honey production and harvesting, with the participation of about 20 beekeepers.

Director of the Technical Department at the Arab Beekeepers Union, Engineer Iman Al-Ali, pointed out that the exhibition comes to introduce the importance of bees and draw attention to their products and their medical benefits and to the beekeepers and their concentration in the valley area, noting that the event could be a starting point for an exhibition or a marketing channel later that connects the producer and the consumer directly .

The head of the Prevention Department in the Homs Agriculture Directorate, Dr. Mahasin Suleiman, stated that it is the directorate’s first participation in the festival’s activities and is of particular importance as it gives way to identify beekeepers, their problems, and the advanced tools used in their work, which can be used in the department’s work, honey production, the production of new queens, and methods of improving the Syrian breed.

Head of the Bee Division in the Directorate of Agriculture in Homs, Engineer Nasser Shofan, reviewed the division's work represented in the production of parcels and selling them to breeders at encouraging prices and holding seminars to identify pests and diseases that affect bees and introducing the most important developments in the methods of bee breeding.

The Governor of Homs, Eng. Bassam Parsik, stressed in a statement to reporters the importance of diversity in the events and places that hosted the activities of the festival, as the location of the opening was changed this year, with keenness on the participation of all administrative units in it, noting that the valley is characterized by the beauty of its nature and its archaeological and tourist sites, in addition to the atmosphere of love that was added to the festival. A special cast.

He pointed out that festivals are one of the most important means of marketing, noting the efforts of the people of the valley and their solidarity with each other to hold this festival.

The activities of the third day were concluded with two artistic concerts by Raymond Maamari and Elias Massouh, which were held in the restaurants street in the towns of Kafra and Marmarita and witnessed a public presence.
