The Hama Athletics Championship for males and females born between 2004 and 2009, which was set up by the Technical Subcommittee, witnessed a wide participation with more than 100 male and female players representing ten clubs playing the game in the governorate in the largest participation in the history of the tournament.

The first places in the male category were won by Abd al-Hadi Warar in the 100- and 400-meter races, Muhammad Al-Jarf in the 200-meter race, Khaled Nazak in the 800-meter race, Rahim Abbas in the 1500-meter race, Bara’ Al-Omar in the long jump, Hussein Ezz El-Din in the javelin throw and Ammar Al-Naasan with the iron ball.

In the female competitions, Rita Mahfoud in the 100m race, Nour Al-Yousef in the 200 and 400m races, Sajida Al-Alou in the 800m race, Aya Mudallal with the long jump, and Waad Al-Saad with the steel ball.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Ibrahim Al-Khalil, head of the Technical Committee for Athletics in Hama, indicated that the tournament was of a good standard and witnessed strong competitions in the male and female categories, especially with the participation of a large number of clubs, which gave the tournament a distinct flavor and witnessed the emergence of a number of raw materials and promising talents of young ages. He indicated that athletics in the governorate needs more attention in order to develop for the better.
