The Petrochemical Enterprises Company received a permit to control Bezan, this after yesterday evening the Prime Minister's signature was received approving Finance Minister Lieberman's move.

The company's announcement to the stock exchange states that the controlling owners of petrochemical plants, David Pederman, Yaakov Gutenstein, Alex Pesal and Adi Pederman, informed the Prime Minister that they are obliged to act in full cooperation with the relevant parties for the purpose of implementing Government Resolution 1231 which includes "the cessation of the petrochemical and chemical industry in the Haifa Bay, while Maintaining energy security and a regular supply of fuel to the economy," or in other words, to act to close Bezen within a decade.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Lapid sent a message referring to the sale permit, stating that the government will continue to work to stop the petrochemical industry in Haifa Bay within a decade (Government Resolution No. 1231), regardless of the identity of the controlling owners of Bazen.

The request to sign the permit was received by the Prime Minister's office already a week ago, at which time it was said that the granting of the control permit will be considered only after the court's decision regarding the debt settlement requested by the company.

After the Petrochemical debt settlement that involved a "haircut" of one billion shekels was approved yesterday in court and the company's owners pledged to cooperate in closing Bazen, Lapid signed.

The announcement that the Prime Minister, the last person who was supposed to sign the permit, also signed the control permit for petrochemicals in Bezan, provoked sharp criticism among environmental organizations.

Elad Hochman, CEO of Green Movement, addressed the Prime Minister in a letter yesterday, in which he expressed his lack of confidence in the closure of Zen. Its main aim is to continue and perpetuate the polluting industry in Haifa Bay.

The public should know that a kidnapping is being done here."
