White House spokeswoman Karen Jean-Pierre announced today that US President Joe Biden has made a final decision against designating Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.
Reuters quoted Jean-Pierre as telling reporters that Biden has taken a final decision against designating Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, considering that designating Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism may delay food exports and threaten agreements to transport goods across the Black Sea.
Biden said Russia should not be classified as a state sponsor of terrorism, a designation Ukraine sought in the midst of the Russia-Ukraine war.
In turn, Moscow warned that such a step would lead to the collapse of US-Russian relations.
