Europe against Iran: "did not take advantage of the opportunity to sign an agreement"

In a rare statement in light of the political stalemate, the E3 countries - Germany, France and England - warned that despite the flexibility presented by European coordinator Joseph Borrell in the latest draft he passed between the parties, Iran is not taking positive steps towards an agreement.

"Unfortunately, Iran chose not to take advantage of this crucial diplomatic opportunity," the three countries wrote.

"Instead, Iran continues to escalate its nuclear program far beyond what can reasonably be justified for a civilian purpose," they said, referring to the Islamic Republic's enrichment levels.
