Ambassador Dr. Ghassan Abbas, Head of the Syrian Arab Republic Mission in Abu Dhabi, discussed with Minister Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to the President of the State and Supreme President of the United Arab Emirates University today, at the university's headquarters in Al Ain, ways to enhance joint cooperation in the cultural, academic and scientific fields to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries.
The two sides pointed out the importance of working to support the Syrian scientific and academic competencies, the continuity of cultural cooperation, and the provision of scholarships and special discounts for the distinguished and outstanding members of the Syrian Arab community in the UAE, in addition to rehabilitating the graduating students in line with the requirements of the labor market.
In turn, Anwar Nusseibeh praised the role played by Damascus, the capital of civilization, stressing the importance of the Syrian community and its contribution to the process of construction and development.
The meeting was attended by the Vice President of the University, Dr. Ghaleb Al-Hadrami Al-Buraiki, Dr. Matthew Evans, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director of Financial Affairs, Dr. Suad Al-Marzouqi, Director of Student Affairs, Ahmed Ali Murad, the Academic Research Officer, and from the Embassy in charge of Cultural Affairs, Attache Khaled Asfour.
