Pebbles, the world's oldest dog, has died at the age of 22, Guinness World Records announced.
The little fox terrier, who broke records for her age, died of natural causes at her home in Taylors, South Carolina, on Monday, Guinness said in a news release.
According to the information, Pebbles was only five months away from reaching the age of 23.
This adorable dog obtains the record for the oldest: she has already turned 22
Pebbles' recognition as the world's oldest dog came just earlier this year.
In April, Guinness World Records initially named a 21-year-old Chihuahua named TobyKeith as the oldest living dog.
But when Pebbles' owners saw the news, they realized that his dog was actually older and took matters into their own hands.
Bobby and Julie Gregory, the owner of Pebbles, presented their pet to the Guinness World Record.
The little fox terrier was born on March 28, 2000, according to the release.

Pebbles had "a long and happy life," Guinness said.
She was the mother of 32 puppies throughout her life.

On the Instagram account dedicated to Pebbles, Julie Gregory posted information about the death of her pet, whom she called a unique life partner.
The 4-pound terrier loved listening to country music and trying new foods, Gregory recalled in the statement.
Her wardrobe was packed with dozens of adorable outfits, including a festive pumpkin hat and pink dress that were documented on her Instagram account.
"It was an honor for us to have been blessed to have her as a pet and member of the family," Gregory wrote.
"There was never anyone who knew Pebbles and didn't love her."
"We will miss her deeply."
