The Ministries of Social Affairs, Labor and Tourism are preparing to hold an employment forum in Damascus next month, as part of the executive steps of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two ministries last August.
During their meeting today at the Ministry of Tourism building, the Ministers of Affairs, Mohamed Seif El-Din and Tourism, Eng. Mohamed Rami Martini, stressed the importance of the forum in terms of providing job opportunities for different age groups and specializations, with priority given to identifying job opportunities in the private tourism sector.
The two ministers discussed the activities that are being exhausted during the forum, services related to empowering youth, exploring the needs of job seekers, and coordinating with private sector employers to provide everything related to training, especially workplace training programs, noting that holding the forum in Damascus is a first stage. The experiment will be evaluated and expanded to include the rest of the governorates.
During the meeting, the services provided by the Youth Empowerment Centers of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, distributed in various governorates, were presented, and the training and capacity-building they provide for job seekers according to market needs, and the identification of job needs for private sector companies, to design training programs for that.
It is noteworthy that the Ministries of Social Affairs, Labor and Tourism signed on the 28th of last August a memorandum of understanding that includes interest in training and rehabilitation, linking young people to job opportunities available in the tourism private sector, and implementing specialized workshops and employment fairs, with the aim of presenting job opportunities available in the tourism private sector to young researchers. About job opportunities, and graduates of the tourism and hotel education and training sector, as well as the colleges of tourism and related disciplines.
