Police show Mau Ping arrests 10 men and women for cracking down on prostitution and unlicensed massage parlors

During the operation, two local women, aged 45 and 53, were arrested on suspicion of "managing a prostitution establishment" and violating the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F).

In addition, three local women, aged between 44 and 54, were arrested on suspicion of "assisting in the management of prostitution establishments". Among them, three arrested women and two other women and one male customer, aged between 40 and 76, were also suspected of For breaching the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F), officers issued a total of 6 Fixed Penalty Notices to them for breaching the relevant epidemic prevention regulations.

In addition, officers also smashed two suspected unlicensed massage parlors and arrested five local women, aged between 43 and 57, on suspicion of "operating an unlicensed massage parlor" and "assisting in the management of an unlicensed massage parlor".

During the operation, officers seized a batch of exhibits, including about 15,000 yuan in cash, massage oil and bed sheets.

All arrested persons are being detained for investigation.

Police operations are still ongoing and more arrests cannot be ruled out.

Sau Mau Ping Police District will continue to monitor the situation and conduct intelligence collection to combat the crime of illegal prostitution.

The Police also remind the public that under Section 139 of the Crimes Ordinance (Chapter 200 of the Laws of Hong Kong), any person operates any premises, vessel or place as a place of prostitution, or manages/helps to manage, or otherwise controls/controls the operation Any premises, vessel or place used as a place of prostitution shall be an offence and shall be liable to imprisonment for up to 3 years upon summary conviction and up to 10 years upon conviction upon indictment.
