Mayor Hubert Oberhauser and District Administrator Josef Niedermaier prepared the assembled community members for strenuous times.

Egling – The residents of Egling picked up a comprehensive report on the activities of the municipality on Tuesday.

"We have achieved a great deal," emphasized Mayor Hubert Oberhauser to the 70 or so visitors to the citizens' meeting in Ergertshausen's Schützenhaus.

He described his previous work as “sustainable, courageous and innovative.

This is how we want to continue.

And so must we."

The challenges facing the community are varied and complex.

A sewer renewal for four million euros is planned for the Deininger through-road.

As reported, the road must therefore be closed for two years from spring 2023.

In this context, "empty pipes for the broadband expansion will also be laid".

Elementary school puts a strain on the municipal coffers

Furthermore, new staff for administration and kindergartens are to be found and financed.

The community must also identify areas for wind power.

In addition, new and refurbishment work at the elementary school consumes the municipal treasury.

However, the head of the town hall does not want to shake up the project: "This school is the nucleus of our community," Oberhauser clarified.

"That's why we have to do something now, not just when the building from the 1970s falls apart." With the "robust and solid municipal treasury" it can be done.

The head of the town hall received approval from those present with applause – and the waiver of applications.

Demanded Efforts Meet “Tired Population”

After a security report by the Wolfratshausen police - "Everything looks good so far," reported Police Chief Inspector Tony Lechner - the increasing number of refugees and the expansion of renewable energies were discussed.

District Administrator Josef Niedermaier spoke.

“We usually don't have much time to plan and have to make decisions quickly.

It's no different now." That's why he hopes for understanding for unpleasant situations - be it with the accommodation of refugees or with photovoltaic systems in the "beautiful scenery of the Oberland".

He was aware that the efforts required would meet a "tired population", but there was not much he could do about it.

Niedermaier presented two possible ways to the citizens: “Think long until it might be too late, or act quickly, with the risk of making mistakes.

He chooses the latter, even if he doesn't like everything that happens.

"Whying doesn't help," he remarked.

Niedermaier honored municipal council members on behalf of Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann

In addition to his report, Niedermaier had another task that evening.

"I congratulate you on behalf of the Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann for many years of loyalty and good work in the municipal council," he said and presented Angelika Kassner and Dr.

Jakob Bernlochner ceremoniously presented a certificate.

Mayor Oberhauser joined him.

"Thank you for your work.

I hope you stick around for a long time."
