Bertille Bayart: "The energy crisis has only just begun"

There are less than five weeks left.

In a month and three days, on December 5, Russian oil transported by sea will be embargoed in Europe.

A rupture which is added to that which occurred on the gas market.

Trade from Russia to the West, rationed by the Kremlin, has been virtually halted since the sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline.

It is an earthquake unlike any the world energy market has ever experienced.

Russia, the world's largest exporter of hydrocarbons, is losing its first customer, Europe, to which it intended before the invasion of Ukraine 65% of its gas deliveries and 55% of those of oil.

The challenge is twofold.

It is on the one hand for Europe to replace the Russian black gold that it still receives - a million barrels a day, which is not nothing - by others...
