Retired doctors to the rescue of medical deserts

Practitioners in combined employment and retirement will be exempt from contributions. But this gesture will only have a limited effect.


To fight against medical deserts, the government wants to force young people to practice in areas in difficulty, but also encourage retired doctors to return to service.

Today 12,500 retired practitioners practice, but they are often discouraged by the obligation to pay social contributions which do not entitle them to any additional rights.

To change the situation, the Social Security financing bill (PLFSS) for 2023 provides for the exemption of doctors in combined employment and retirement from pension contributions.
