The highest luxury is for sale in Schwabing – in the truest sense of the word.

You can get a tower for almost 13 million euros.

This luxury dream is now for sale in Schwabing: a 380 square meter penthouse with a bombastic view over Munich to infinity – for 12,850,000 euros (33,995 euros per square metre).

And the special thing is not only the view, but also the building itself: It is the Schwabing high-rise bunker at Ungererstraße 158.

Munich: Company presents property as an “international design icon”.

The company Riedel Immobilien presents the apartment online as an "international design icon" and advertises how this bunker was transformed into a domicile "that is characterized by abundance of light and transparency, by grandiose visual axes and almost endless panoramic views over the Munich skyline to the Fascinated by the Alps”.

The bathroom: it couldn't be more elegant!

The apartment also costs more than twelve million euros.

Munich: Bunker was built in 1943 in the middle of the war

The striking bunker, built in 1943 in the middle of the war, was originally intended to provide shelter for up to 700 people during bomb attacks.

It then stood empty for a long time until real estate developer Stefan Höglmaier bought it to make it livable.

According to Riedel-Immobilien, in 2013, when the "transformation to a residential building" was completed, it was celebrated by the specialist audience worldwide.

And now there is the exclusive penthouse for sale.

A few details to dream about: There are three floors plus "rooftop", seven rooms, three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

There is private elevator access including an elegant private foyer.

A lighted "sculptural interior staircase" with marble steps lets you float through the floors.

The "master bathroom": an eye-catcher with oak floorboards and glass mosaic and a free-standing bathtub with a view over Munich.

Another toilet is equipped with a "gilded wall", there is also an illuminated dressing room, a library, a heated pine room and a loggia with a fountain.

Protective structures in Munich

Around 40 high and eight underground bunkers were built in Munich by the end of the war.

They were then to be blown up by American order, but due to a lack of shelter they were largely preserved.

There are still high-rise bunkers in Munich today – but most of them are unused, serving as residential buildings or exhibition spaces for art.

Two high-rise bunkers are still dedicated as protective structures: the one at Blumenstraße 22 and the one at Schleißheimerstraße 281 (Milbertshofen).
