A British study revealed that people who suffer from poor sleep, disturbed sleep, and snore during it are more likely than others to lose sight in the future.
And the British Daily Mail newspaper quoted the researchers as saying in statements: “People who snore are 10 percent more likely to develop glaucoma, which affects the optic nerve, while those who suffer from insomnia and have a long or short sleep pattern relative to the normal range were more likely to suffer from it.” 13 percent compared to those who follow a healthy sleep pattern.
Scientists attribute the danger to changes in intraocular pressure that are raised while lying down and when sleep hormones are out of control, which happens during insomnia.
Glaucoma or glaucoma is a common problem with age that leads to the destruction of the optic nerve that connects the eyes to the brain, and this problem leads to vision loss if it is not diagnosed and treated early enough.
