A serious accident occurred on Wednesday in the parking lot of a supermarket in Dinkelsbühl, in central Franconia.

A woman was hit and died a short time later.

Dinkelsbühl – A tragic accident happened on Wednesday morning, November 2nd, in Dinkelsbühl in Central Franconia (Ansbach district).

When parking out, an 85-year-old caught two people and ran them over.

Both were seriously injured.

Any help came too late for a woman.

Fatal accident in a supermarket parking lot: Pensioners caught two people parking

According to a press release from the Central Franconia police, the accident happened around 9 a.m. in Dinkelsbühl.

According to the officials' knowledge so far, an 85-year-old man wanted to park his car after shopping.

He reversed his car in the supermarket car park on Luitpoldstrasse, but accelerated too much and crashed into the front door of the store.

During the action, he captured a 73-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man.

Both were seriously injured in the accident.

The 68-year-old was flown to a hospital in a helicopter.

However, the woman's injuries were so severe that despite attempts to resuscitate her in the parking lot, she could not be revived, the press release continues.

She died at the scene of the accident.

The 85-year-old driver and his 81-year-old passenger were unharmed, but suffered a shock.

After a fatal accident in a supermarket parking lot: the public prosecutor initiates investigations

Rescue workers and police officers immediately went to the scene of the accident.

The fire brigades from Dinkelsbühl and Mönchsroth also supported the helpers.

The Dinkelsbühl Police Inspectorate has now started investigations to clarify what happened in the accident.

By order of the public prosecutor's office, an expert was consulted.
