Dissolution: “Precious Weapon, Dangerous Weapon”

Always think about it, never talk about it.

As for nuclear deterrence, this principle stated in its time by Gambetta applies to dissolution.

On October 26, on France 2, Emmanuel Macron recalled that Article 12 of the Constitution was a tool available to the President of the Republic.

Same as the referendum.

Or the appointment of the prime minister.

Listing the institutional prerogatives of the Head of State is important for Macron.

This allows him to recall that not having an absolute majority in the Assembly does not condemn him to inaction for five years, any more than the impossibility of running for a new mandate deprives him of all political authority.

Preparing for a dissolution can therefore be a matter of common sense.

Talking about it publicly and, even more, implying its imminence borders on unconsciousness.
