Even a month after 23-year-old Hanna was found dead in Prien, the police still have no hot lead.

The investigators are now placing great hopes in the program "Aktenzeichen XY".

There, the Soko boss reported last night about a wooden watch that could provide a new investigative approach.

Aschau – The police don't want to waste any time.

It would have taken months to shoot a film for the show “Aktenzeichen XY … unsolved”.

By then, the memories or observations of potential witnesses could fade, Soko boss Hans-Peter Butz fears.

That's why he came personally to the ZDF studio on Wednesday evening to inform the viewers where the investigators are in the Hanna case.

Above all, he and his team are hoping for clues that will help the investigation.

ZDF program "Aktenzeichen XY": Investigators hope for witnesses and present an important find

A month has now passed since the 23-year-old medical student was found dead in the Prien after a visit to the Aschau disco "Eiskeller".

What is certain is that she was the victim of severe physical violence, Butz said on the show.

The criminal police still don't have a hot lead.

The investigators are now placing great hopes in a wooden wristwatch that was found at the Kampenwand car park in Bärbach - near the spot where Hanna's ring was discovered.

The water level was high on the night of the crime, the police assume that Hanna's body was washed from there into the Prien.

The bracelet of the watch - also made of wood - is torn, reported Butz yesterday.

"It could have happened during a fight," he explains.

It was a Holzkern watch, model "Charlie", said Butz.

"The watch has been on the market since October 2019." Roman numerals can be seen on the dial.

"It's not an everyday model," emphasizes the Soko boss.

The clock could be a lead to the culprit.

It is conceivable that Hanna met or already knew the perpetrator in the "Eiskeller".

But she could just as easily have become a chance victim walking from the disco to her parents' house.

According to previous knowledge, she had left the "ice cellar" alone at around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, October 3rd.

This is shown by the images from a surveillance camera.

Her parents' house is within walking distance, says Butz.

She may have met the perpetrator in the Kampenwand car park area.

Her ring had been found nearby.

More than 40 tips were received at the end of the broadcast

It is a case where public help is needed more than ever.

Butz emphasizes that it is often the small, inconspicuous observations that can bring the investigators on a track.

The investigators had already contacted the citizens several times, and more than 200 witnesses had already been questioned.

But not yet hundreds of guests who were in the Aschauer Club on the night of the crime.

600 to 800 people had stayed in the disco that evening.

They are difficult to find - but could be important for the investigation.

Such a large number of potential witnesses is extraordinary.

The footage from the surveillance cameras is more than 500 gigabytes.

Checking that out is a mammoth task.

Butz asked everyone who was out and about in Hohenaschau on 3 October between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.

to report to the police.

Each observation could be important.

In Aschau, the case still occupies many people.

The mood is depressed, reports Mayor Simon Frank.

"The topic of Hanna resonates in almost all areas of life in the Priental." It is difficult to go back to everyday life.

"There is great hope that the matter will be fully clarified," says Frank.

That would also alleviate the uncertainty that many citizens feel because the perpetrator has not yet been caught.

In Aschau, many people followed the program on Wednesday evening.

Frank was also sitting in front of the television.

"We all hope that an important tip is coming in."

At the end of the show, presenter Rudi Cerne was able to report that the response from viewers in Hanna's case was great.

More than 40 references to the wooden watch were received yesterday evening and are now being evaluated.
