In the wake of the energy crisis, Süc Coburg increased electricity prices – by almost 80 percent.

The citizens are frustrated, the provider explains himself.

Coburg – By now everyone should have noticed that the prices are rising drastically in some cases as a result of the energy crisis.

From everyday groceries to monthly down payments in private tenancies, things have become more expensive.

Many electricity providers have also had to adjust their prices in the meantime, and some were able to avoid this.

This is also the case with the local provider Süc Coburg in the city of the same name in northern Bavaria.

For a long time, the prices could be kept quite stable - but that came to an end in November.

Now, on November 1st, this adjustment came into effect - and it's a drastic increase in costs.

The electricity price tables published on the Süc Coburg website show that a kilowatt hour cost around 35 cents before November.

Customers were also informed of the new prices by letter: according to the price table, a kilowatt hour will in future cost around 63 cents – an increase of around 80 percent.

With regard to the energy crisis, Süc Coburg writes on its website: “Unfortunately, an adjustment to all electricity tariffs is unavoidable”.

The provider also provides a sample calculation: "In figures, this means a monthly additional charge of 35 euros for a single household and a monthly additional charge of 104 euros for a four-person household." with regard to the frustration of citizens: "Please remain respectful"
